Since I got my alienware 18, I have never been able to sync any type of I-device , be it a ipad or iphone , ipod , ect. I posted about it awhile back, but I can't seem to find anyone who knows how to fix it. Basically the iphone (or any other iphone/device) will connect, you will hear the windows beep , then it will immediately disconnect, then connect again, and do this over and over until i unplug it from the usb port.
This is what i have tried. I have tried doing it with a fresh install of windows both 7 and 10. I have unplugged any other devices plugged into the usb ports. I have tried different USB ports, I have tried disabling the computers ability to disable a usb port to conserve power. I have tried enabling USB debugging to disable usb 3.0 ( i was told this is how to do it, but it didn't work either) I have installed the newest version of Itunes.
Now today for the first time, my external hard drive is connecting and disconnecting. However it has been only doing it like once every 20 minutes or so. The i-devices is like rapid fire .I also turned off charging from the one usb port on my alienware laptop. I tried disabling my overclock to see if that worked. Nothing.
Could it be that the laptop doesn't have any USB 3.0 ports? I've tried deleting all the usb drivers and reinstalling them with alienwares drivers and that didn't work either.
the only device that hasn't disconnected has been my mouse. I have also tried unplugging the laptop, removing the battery and draining it of any power which didn't work either.
Please if anyone has any ideas at all, i will try it. If someone has an alienware 18 and they are able to hook up a iphone ect with no problems at all, can you send me the drivers your using, possibly even a snapshot of your device manager with your USB section opened up.
Thank you for anyone who can help. Im thinking maybe i need a new motherboard or something. I have no warranty left though.
I don't know what else to do
