WANT: 13.3-15", 2 button mousepad, good build quality, thin, long battery life (~$800)?

Can anyone recommend a laptop with good build quality (business grade), thin/light profile, long battery life, a nice keyboard for about $800 or less for parents.

Thinkpad X1 Carbon, Zenbook, Yoga or Dell Latitude/XPS outlets?

1) What is your budget? ~$800-ish.
2) What size notebook would you prefer? Thin and Light; 13" - 15" screen
3) Where will you buying this notebook? Online or Store (USA)
4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? Up for anything as long as build quality is good.
5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed? Probably
6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook? Internet, Word, Excel
7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both? 90% around the http://house..room/sofa..and maybe 10% to the office
8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? No
9) How many hours of battery life do you need? The more the better...6+ hours?
10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK? Online is ok
11) What OS do you prefer? Windows 7/8/10
12) From the choices below, what screen resolution(s) would you prefer? Probably at least 1600x900 or higher.
13) Do you want a Glossy/reflective screen or a Matte/non-glossy screen? Either..though tend to lean glossy for color pop.
14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you? Doesn't have to be impressive looking
15) When are you buying this laptop? This month, unless something is worth waiting
16) How long do you want this laptop to last? at least 3 years.
17) How much hard drive space do you need? Do you want a SSD drive? Yes, want SSD..128gb is more than enough.
18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader or Blu-Ray Burner? Not required, but doesn't mind
