Hi,
Pretty soon I'll have to give back my current work laptop when I finish up in December, so am trying to start shopping around for something to replace it. On top of that the current laptop is starting to overheat and show its age (old Dell Vostro 3300) so worried about it acting up while typing my thesis.
I already own a decent desktop at home, so what I'm mainly looking for is something portable for when I'm away from home, for watching movies, browsing the web, running office programs, and at most playing WoW or LoL when visiting friends, on the lowest settings I can get away with. In the past my experience with laptops has involved them being noisy, very hot, batteries not lasting more than an hour, etc. While I do play games, given I already own a desktop I'm not looking for something necessarily with dedicated graphics, just enough to get by. Also aware that dedicated graphics drink battery and add heat/weight problems, and price, kinda defeating the purpose of an out and about laptop. So unless I'm being completely unreasonable with thinking I can get away with using integrated graphics, I'm ok with it.
