gaming and school laptop

Hi guys, need a little help to decide whether I should buy a 15,6 inch laptop (1080p, 2.4kg, 5-7h) with a gtx 965m 2gb and i7-6700hq with 250gb ssd, 8gb ram or should i use 150$ extra and get a 14 inch laptop (1080p, 1.9kg, 4-5h) with a gtx 970m 3gb, same processor but 500gb SSD instead and 16gb ram which I'm not gonna be needing, therefore, i'm gonna get 8 gb instead and save 30$ (120$). Then keep in mind that this laptop can only hold one hard drive while the 15,6 can hold two.

I'm gonna be using this laptop for gaming and school, means I'm gonna be carrying it every day. But my main concern is that we are gonna be using programs like CAD/CAM and others were a bigger screen might come in handy. So what do you guys think?

Edit: Oh!, forgot to mention that I already have a desktop with a gtx 970. So the gaming part on the laptop will be used for traveling and gaming nights at school.
