Anything is fine

Yes, refurbs would be good. After packing as much into the budget as possible performance wise.

6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
Aside a little light browsing/etc. The primary function will be to host 4 Linux virtual machines to run oracle database... "parts" on for learning and education.

7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
Mostly desk based

8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?
No gaming required

9) How many hours of battery life do you need?
Anything really... I guess 4+

10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
Online is fine.

Windows based but otherwise, no issue

Screen Specifics

12) From the choices below, what screen resolution(s) would you prefer? Keep in mind screen size in conjunction with resolution will play a large role in overall viewing comfort level. 15.6" or there abouts. So long as it's a 1080p screen, no issue. If it's IPS, that's nice but not needed.

14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you? No.

15) When are you buying this laptop? Within the next week.

16) How long do you want this laptop to last? Not really needed to answer, it's going to do ok for... 3/4 years as a VM in the role planned, after that something else is fine.

Notebook Components

17) How much hard drive space do you need? Do you want a SSD drive? Nice but not needed.

18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader or Blu-Ray Burner? Nice but not needed.

I'm basically after an i7 6500/6700HQ with DDR4 memory. These 2 are the most important parts. 1080p screen next, everything else is.... rather optional. VM's take processor and RAM, considering 32GB DDR3L is about twice the price of a cheap laptop... I'd rather have DDR4 and MAYBE I can make the choice in a few years to pay the premium and throw 64GB in it to give it some new legs.
