External Monitor 144hz problem

Hi folks,
at the beginning I would like to thank you for the information about alienware that helped me to prove that my laptop has a problem with the cpu throttling. Yesterday I received a new unit upgraded to a new generation of cpu. Without you it would'nt happened.

AND

right now i have problem with my aga and monitor connection .
I always used external monitor with 144hz connected directly to AGA with cable dvi-d - hdmi and it works great when i was closing my alienware so i was only using this external screen on refresh rate to 144hz.

But right now i want to use both of screens so main screen lcd alienware 60hz and external screen with 144hz connected directly to aga but when i just expand those screens and changed on second refresh rate to 144hz video and image is not that smooth like when i was on only on external with 144hz. And all games displaying on external monitor lagging like hell.
So maybe problem is with cable connection??
Maybe i should use displayport or sth?
