RAM - How much is too much - 32 - 48 - 64

Seems this is a question commonly asked so why not ask again..

I use CAD, image editing software and love multitasking.. My Precision will have 2/4 bays occupied with 16GB modules totaling 32GB..

If you had a spare pair of 2x8GB DDR4 modules (which I do) would you install them in the remaining two slots to total 48GB or just leave the 32GB as it's enough?

Never really see workstations configured to 48GB, normally either 32 or 64GB
