Screen resolution is a wholly separate issue from viewing angles. You're going to want to look for a screen with an IPS panel in it (or similar technology) if you want great viewing angles, regardless of resolution.
That said, I'd still recommend going for a high-res display (such as 1080p or higher), as you not only get plenty of screen real estate but high-res displays tend to have better overall specs than low-res displays (better colors, contrast, etc.).
