Thank you for the quick response! I've listed these two specifically as they are the two that I've managed to find locally that fall within my budget and have the general specs that I'm looking for . I am however open to many other options too, so apologies for the lack of information.
Here are the basics:
1. Budget: Would rather not spend more than ~$693. Ideally =/< $630
2. Size: 15-16” is ideal. Also open to idea of 13” if fits budget and specs.
3. Country buying in: South Africa
4. Brands I like: Highly open to ASUS (as I’ve read that they produce all their own hardware. Also generally very good opinion amongst friends who own them). MAYBE Acer/Lenovo?
Brands I'm unsure of: Dell (Know too many people riddled with problems including continously flickering screens and slow performance despite good specs, but have seen some good online opinions?)
Brands I dislike: HP (Too many bad experiences with 1 laptop for 4 years!); Toshiba
5. Don’t want refurbished. Do want NEW.
6. Daily tasks: Internet research; studying (pdf documents); Skype; Microsoft office (Generally: Utilize MANY tabs / windows at once)
7. Laptop will be primarily used in one location. Occasional long distance travel.
8. No gaming
9. Battery life: 3-4h should suffice
10. Online buying is ok.
Minimum requirements: 6GB RAM; Intel Core i5 (6th gen); HDD 500GB-1TB; SSD Is a nice idea but I realise that they are quite pricey; No need for CD/DVD drive; Screen texture is irrelevant; Must have integrated webcam with microphone; Laptop should last minimum 2-4 years;
Asus F555UA opinions + no microphone (vs. Lenovo Ideapad 300?)
