Alienware 17 UHD vs FHD

I know this topic has come up several times but the more I read and research the more I get confused, so I'm asking for your opinion on what should I do:
I will purchase a new 17 r3, I decided to go for the top spec option and the only component I have a conflict with is the display, the price difference in México, from the 4k screen is about 100 usd so is not a factor.
Some things to consider, I'm and Architect I will use this computer mainly for work, (sketchup, Acad, Lumion 6 and Twinmotion and post processing in Adobe PS, the usual exel / word email work). and for casual gaming, now I know there will be some scaling issues, so I want to know if upscaling to 1080p delivers good results and all the reviews raving about how good the colors and the option to go full 4k when possible is worth the hassel.
