Please Recommend Laptops!

So I'm pretty new to this 'high-end' laptop buying stuff. Idk if this is available for the price range that I described, so... yeah, I will look into everything that is posted, even if it is little bit over my limit. I prefer that my laptop be a really really good laptop in term of software and hardware (Including build quality), than be a awesome gaming laptop. For example, if a laptop had all the specs I want, but has heating issues, then I would prob. not like it, especially if it costs $2,000.

General Questions

1) What is your budget?
Max is $2,000, Preferably around $1,500, cuz I want to buy a cheap monitor but that's a different story. But if $2000 presents good options, then I am okay not having a monitor.

2) What size notebook would you prefer?
So I really don't know the specific terminology for this, but I want a portable laptop (Under 5 lbs, and preferably in the 4lbs range), and screen size 14in, not really a 13in or 15in fan, especially with the weight restriction.
3) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.
I will be buying it online, but I would love a chance to try it, but it's not a deal breaker. Also I'm in the US.

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: Lenovo (T420 Current laptop its 1/2 a brick, but I really like it), I prefer laptops with good build quality... and like anything really expect...
b. Dislike: HP, Apple
5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?
Nope.

6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
I will be starting college, so mostly just web browsing, writing (a lot), and light gaming.

7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
Yes to both... dorm life.

8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?
In terms of gaming, I want to play games like Skyrim or Witcher 3, medium to low quality, or mine craft at super-low quality. Not really a gamer, but I would like the option. From my own research, I was thinking something like a dedicated GPU would do the trick like Nvidia GTX 980M or something like that...

9) How many hours of battery life do you need?
6+, More the merrier.

10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
Buying without seeing is OK, prefer trying then buying.

11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (Windows 7 / 8), Mac OS, Linux, etc.
Windows 10.

Screen Specifics

12) What screen resolution(s) would you prefer?
I was thinking around 1080p at the lowest, because I know that if you get 4k then the battery life is a problem. But preferably 2k to 3k resolutions i.e. between standard and mid-range resolution with a preference toward mid-range.

13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen? (Scroll down to see explanations.)
Doesn't matter. I believe that the lenovo t420 has a matte screen and that's not really a problem for me. I've used both. Prefer matte, but glossy is not a deal breaker.

Build Quality and Design

14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
Yep, just needs to look sleek and stylish, ie not like a brick. Better than a Lenovo t420 :)

15) When are you buying this laptop?
From now to Black Friday is my timeline, but would like to buy at the back to school sales.

16) How long do you want this laptop to last?
4-5 years, at least 4.

Notebook Components

17) How much hard drive space do you need? Do you want a SSD drive?
SSD 510 GB, HDD not preferred.

18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader or Blu-Ray Burner?
I don't need anything in terms of optical drives.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my long post. I hope that you guys can help me out!
