WinXP Laptop into a Wifi Hotspot?

How?

I have followed this tutorial here: http://ift.tt/2sUr72w

But when trying to connect with an iPad, the iPad makes it a point to tell me that there is no internet connected on the Wifi I am trying to join.

Any ideas?
