Need some advice on an Alienware Mx15

I got this laptop in 2012.
It used to run a ton of stuff great, (Final Fantasy 14, Guild Wars 2, DotA2, Dawn of War 2, etc)
It still runs pretty well. FF14 used to run at 40ish fps and now drops to 14 frequently. All the other games are like that too. It used to get better if I would clean it out, (and sometimes resit the CPU) but now it seems nothing works.
I wonder if it is shot, or is there something I am missing? Is there something I can do, short of upgrading?
