Is now a good time to buy a laptop?

I have a Razer 14 2014 (Nvidia 870M) that's starting to get a little long in the tooth and having a hard time to get 30+ FPS in the games that I play, on the settings I want.

I'm considering selling it for $700 ish and putting that money towards a new laptop. I know razer has horrible customer service, but not sure I've seen anything with a similar build quality, dimensions, and specs to the Razer 14.

Does a laptop in the $1500 range exist, with good build quality, and a Nvidia 1060...
