Is 1080p60 with sound via HDMI 1.4 possible?

Hi,

I have recently dug out Assassin's Creed Rogue to play on my Clevo P150HM upgraded to 680M. I then connected the laptop to my TV via HDMI. Oddly enough, the laptop can output 1080p60 signal when in Windows desktop, but switches to 1080p24 when launching the game. Needless to say, this results is quite choppy animation.
Is this the game being funny, or is 1080p60 with sound too much for the HDMI 1.4? Thanks for the info in advance!
